Hello all! As you can definitely tell by now, Capitalites covers some very sensitive topics and walks several fine lines as we try to explore subjects like bigotry and class in a fun yet tactful way.

Thanks to some graceful feedback from a disabled fan of the game, we have decided to change name of “The Hypocrite” playbook to “The Heathen”. This is due to the fact that the playbook is the only one to feature a visibly disabled person and that titling them as a “Hypocrite” could lead to some ableist implications that the character is, in fact, lying about their disability.

It’s important that especially because we’re creating a game that deals with tough, real-world topics that we don’t stray away from letting certain biases undercut our goals. In the case of the Heathen playbook, we intended to talk about the pitfalls of modern day, Christian megachurch culture rather than making a statement on disability politics (something which we are not equipped to talk about).
